Private Function Bookings
The Illawarra Live Steamers grounds are available for hire during the year. Christmas/end of year is the busiest period for bookings, with local companies and groups typically bookings the grounds months advance for family friendly events.
Hiring of the Grounds is one of the most cost effective Illawarra event venues for groups 100+.
Private bookings include:
- Train rides for 2½ hours (unlimited rides),
- Club members to run the facility,
- Private use of the club grounds, off street parking, picnic tables and toilets,
- BBQs and other options below
Our rates for the 2025 Calendar Year are as follows:

Booking fee:

Minimum fee: 100 people - $1,200

Additional persons over 100 people: $12 per head. Max 450 people.

Cost per extra half hour of train rides - $100

Extra Time in Grounds at $50 per half hour (no trains running)

Cost per power outlet (Urn, Fridge, Jumping Castle) - $20

Covered kitchen area with a gas BBQ's - $50 per plate

Use of Big Blue Garbage Bin - $50

NOTE: if this option is not selected, there is no garbage service onsite and all garbage must be removed by the hirer.

You are welcome to arrange your own Ice Cream van, Coffee van, Jumping Castle etc, that can be accommodated on our lawn area - see power outlet costs above if required.

Safety regulations require EVERYONE riding the trains must wear enclosed footwear. Persons in bare feet, thongs, sandals or open toe footwear will NOT be permitted on the train so please make sure your guests are advised when you share your invitation.
Please note that for safety reasons and the comfort of others, ball games are not allowed.
